Youth Ministry

Youth is the spring of life. It is the age of discovery and dreams. India has the largest youth population in the world today. The key issues which concern youth in India are universal in nature. Education, Health, Employment, Drug abuse, Gender equality are some of these. We are all aware of these challenges and also of the possibilities of making a difference if these issues could be tackled successfully. Though the youth are very responsive to the challenges, what they need is proper guidance, training and opportunities to channelize their energies.

India is largely an agricultural country and so most of our young people live in villages. Hence needs of rural youth are to be particularly taken care of. Rapid urbanization is leading migration of youth to urban centers and the rural youth who migrate to cities in search of education and employment are sometimes unable to cope up with the alien situation leading to psychological male adjustments and risky behavior. Special efforts are made to help this group of young people. Similarly, special programs have been designed for youth with disabilities, other marginalized youth, including socially and economically backward sections.

Activities undertaken for the development of the youth in our missions are:

  1. Formation of Youth Christian Movement
  2. Personality Development Courses, Leadership, Motivational Hours & Career Guidance.
  3. Vocational Skills like Computer Hardware & Software, Electrical Trade etc.
  4. The upcoming Catholic Information Center in the diocese of Jhansi.
